During the 11^th to 14^th century, Filipinos were united as one, under the leadership of the sultanate of Sulu. Muslims in the Philippines were once declared as protectors and defender of the land. But now, the Muslims are in the jungle fighting for freedom. Freedom that have been misinterpreted as an act terrorism.

In 1971, Nur Misuari established the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), he led a revolution to establish peace, freedom and recognition for the muslim.

After the big contribution of muslims in our country, the muslims were slowly unrecognized, from Malolos constitution our country was only declared as a Christian country in the far east orient, upto the Diosdado Macapagal era. Our government gave a less effort to recognize the value of muslims in our country.

When President Ferdinand Marcos stepped in, the government made an arrangement with the MNLF, a Tripoli Agreement that was settled in Libya in 1976, agreeing to recognize that this country is not just for Christian, but also for Muslims.

Mindanao is inhabited mostly by Muslims, most natural resources like Marine, Agriculture, Mining and Petroluem comes from this land. But only few percent of the Philippine’s Government national income comes back to Mindanao. Philippines is the richest country in the whole world when it comes to natural resources, but we are poor because we are disunited. The administration and the opposition is disunited. Other Muslims are disunited, as well as other Christians.
